Pembrokeshire Model Club

Membership

Welcome to the club and we hope you will be pleased with what we offer in our monthly meetings, newsletter and our site facilities. However, you should remember that the club is the members and needs positive input from them. If you feel that things can be improved or that something is wrong, then let a member of the committee know. Any new ideas you may have will be very welcome as will input of any techniques, resources or skills you have.

The club meets regularly at the Silverdale Inn in Johnston on the last Monday of each month, except January and December. The Annual General Meeting is held on the first Monday of January.

To join the Pembrokeshire Model Club, you must agree with the club CONSTITUTION as amended January 1999

Rules and Safety Code

INTRODUCTION
Club rules are complementary to the BMFA Safety Code for Flying and members must make themselves familiar with this. It is a condition of club membership that members abide by the code as well as club rules. The aim is to provide as safe a procedure as possible and to prevent accidents.
All flying members must be covered by BMFA insurance and members must always carry their membership card when on site. No other insurance scheme is acceptable.

ACCESS TO SITES
Cars must be parked in a tidy manner so that no obstruction is caused. The safety officer will make the final decision on the most suitable place to park.
All gates that you pass through must be shut behind you.
No litter must be left. This includes any pieces of broken model, broken propellers, fuel containers and the like.
If you see any problem that the site owner may not be aware of, you must inform him. This may be especially important if there is an animal in distress.

Flying and boating may take place between 0900 and 2100 on every day of the year except Christmas Day.

SAFETY ON SITE

The decisions of the safety officer must be accepted as final.
All aircraft must be thoroughly checked prior to flight to ensure that they are mechanically sound and that the radio control equipment is working properly.
No radio must be switched on until it has been established that no other members are using the chosen frequency. No transmitter must be brought to the site with its crystal already fitted.
The pegboard frequency control system under the control of the Safety Officer must be adhered to.
A flight line must be established before flight commences. No aircraft must fly behind this or towards other people, cars etcetera.
An aircraft under power must give way to a ‘dead stick’ aircraft.
Aircraft must not be taxied from and to the flight line; take off must be from the pilot’s box.
Engine noise must not exceed a reasonable volume as may be determined by the club.
There must be no protracted engine running close to other members. If prolonged engine running is necessary you must go further along or behind the flight line.
